Translation

Jacob Jacobsen Roy, [ lying sick in bed ], declares that he is indebted to the fo[ llowing persons ]:

To Dirck Cornelissen, carpenter, [ the sum of ] three hundred guilders

To Hendrick Westercamp, two hundred guilders

To Teunes, the mason, eight guilders

Due him from Martin, his servant, seven guilders

He declares that he owes the above and does not know of anything more. This 9th of May anno 1643, in the house of Jacob Roy, on the island of Manhattan, and in the presence of the undersigned witnesses.[1]
