Document: Judgment in the case of Solomon la Chair vs. Jan Laurens

[several lines lost] Jan Laurens [several lines lost] and oral arguments [ ] further, paid attention to everything required, the director general and councilors of New Netherland declare the judgment by the burgomasters and schepenen, dated 2 October last past, pronounced between the petitioner, Salemon La Chair, and the cited Jan Laurens, to be properly pronounced and improperly appealed; and therefore, the petitioner is hereby ordered to give the defendant satisfaction according to the tenor of the aforesaid judgment, on pain of as it is therein expressed and is further condemned to pay expenses incurred by the parties therein. Done in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland. Dated as above.[i]
