Translation

Noble, Honorable, Esteemed, Wise and very Prudent Lords:

My Lords, nothing notable has occurred since my last letter by way of Captain Kriegier. I have heard nothing from Maryland about the English. Through the reports of some Indians I have learned that the Sinnekus have supposedly overrun the plantations of some Swedes or Finns living under the English; however, it is not certain. These River chiefs do not trust the English; they do not want to go there as they have told Andries Hudde and Jacop Swens; saying: "the English have killed some of us and we some of them," thus pithing one against the other. I informed Augustyn of this on the 4th of this month. Mr. d'Hinojosse detained the galliot at Mr. Heermans's request, but after hearing nothing from there in 9 or 10 days, I decided to let it depart.
