I, Jan Haes, acknowledge that I am well and truly indebted to Steven Jongh[1] In the sum of seventeen guilders, Holland currency, which I promise to pay to the aforesaid Steven Jongh, or his order, free of costs and charges, without exception.

Done the 23d of March A°. 1644.
