Received the petition of the burgomasters and schepenen of this city requesting that Jacob van Corlaer, who on the 19th of February last by the director general and councilors was prohibited from keeping school, be allowed to keep school within this city.[i]

It is resolved, keeping school and appointing schoolmasters depends absolutely on the ius patronatus, by virtue of which the director general and councilors for important reasons forbade this to Jacob van Curler, who assumed this without their order, in which order and resolution they persist for the time being. Dated as above.
