The first groups of settlers to New Netherland were Wallooons,   This large building in Amsterdam helps to give context to the number of Walloon refugees that were in Amsterdam during the 17th Century.   Some of the voyages from Amsterdam to New Netherland included orphans and and Orphan Master.
