Petrus Stuyvesandt, on behalf of their honorable High Mightinesses the lords States General of the United Netherlands and the lords directors of the Chartered West India Company, chamber of Amsterdam, director-general of N. Netherland, Curaao, Bonaire, Aruba and the dependencies thereof, together with the honorable lords councilors, have summoned hereto the court messenger, Claes van Elslant de Jonge, greetings.

Whereas Abraham Verplancken, husband and guardian of Maria Vinge, daughter of the deceased Adriane Cuvilje, for himself as well as for the other interested heirs, has remonstrated to us by petition that he finds himself greatly injured by the judgment handed down by the honorable court of this city, dated 26 January, last past, between him and Rachel Vinge because they, the defendants, were condemned to pay to the plaintiffs the sum of 2041,14 in reference to a signed agreement dated 2 June 1655, and an increased sum and further account dated 2 October 1656, without taking into consideration a certain document of the defendants in which is shown that the defendants were not obligated by their signatures because of deceit by Tienhoven about which they have protested sufficiently against him and also taking into account the manifold and notable errors committed by Tienhoven to the disadvantage of the defendants as appears by the documents in the proceedings (so he says). For this our assistance is requested.

Therefore, we order you to summon the aforesaid Rachel Vinge[1] to appear before us here in Fort Amsterdam on Thursday, the 18th of this month, or to send a deputy to respond to any demands and rejoinders that the aforesaid Abraham Verplancken shall make or effect against her, inviting those of the aforesaid court to appear (if it pleases them) on the aforementioned day, or to send deputies to see us annul or confirm the aforesaid judgment; providing copies for use of the parties, and relating to us what you encounter. Done at our meeting held in Fort Amsterdam in N. Netherland, the 12th of April [ ].[2]
