Document: Order to pay moneys for repairs of the fortifications

Jacobus van de Water, the Receiver, is hereby ordered and instructed to cause to be paid to the W. Burgomasters of this city, the sum of six thousand guilders. Wampum value, from the moneys which will be collected according to the valuation that has been made, for completing the fortifications on this Island of Manhatans. Done Fort Willem Hendrick, this 18th May, 1674.
