[ 11a ] This day, date underwritten, before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Sander Leendersen, residing in the colony of Renselaerswyck, who in the presence of the undersigned witnesses acknowledged that before the execution hereof he had received to his full satisfaction from Mr. Willem Turck, free merchant here, the sum of one thousand and seventy-eight guilders, in good merchantable strung seawan, for which the said Sander Leendersz promises to pay precisely in July A° 1649 to the said Mr. Turck, or his order, good winter beavers, all whole, except that Sander shall be at liberty to number among the hundred whole, twelve half-beavers, but no more. The halves shall be reckoned at three guilders, ten stivers, and the whole [ beavers ] at eight guilders, and so to the full payment of the above mentioned sum. As further security for the payment hereof he, Sander Leendersz, binds his person and property, movable and immovable, present and future, submitting the same to all courts and judges. Thus done and signed by the appearer in the presence of Johannes Eodenb[ orch ] and Jacob Kip, as witnesses hereto invited, the 8th of September A° 1648, in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland.
