To the honorable lords, the lord director general and lords councilors of N: Netherland

Sacharias Sickels van Weenen, corporal in the service of the honorable lords directors stationed at Fort Orange, shows with due reverence how recently he was offered an increase of his salary by the honorable lord director general, which increase the petitioner brings to your honors’ discretion. To date he earns and has been earning 12 guilders per month, and he expects your honors’ favorable intention in regards to this. Amsterdam in N: Netherland, the 12th of April anno 1658, Remaining your honors’ obedient servant (:was signed:) Sacharias Seeckels.

After deliberation it is resolved as follows: fiat increase of two guilders per month from now on provided he comport himself as a faithful corporal should. Done at Fort Amsterdam in N: Netherland, dated as above.
