[Enclosed in the foregoing letter was the following note:

Monsieur Montagne,

For your information and] guidance [ we state that we desire you to ] make the agreement with lord Renselaer concerning the tenths for not less than about four hundred schepels. Your honors shall act accordingly.

Done at Fort Amsterdam in N: Netherland. Dated as above.[i]
