Translation

Willem Doeckles, plaintiff in appeal of the sentence of burgomasters and schepenen of this city on the 17th of June last against him, former plaintiff by court order in a writ of appeal, plaintiff in the same case against Jan Hendricx, defendant. The director general and councilors, having heard the written claim of the plaintiff and the defendant’s answer, judge that the said verdict was mistaken, and well appealed with respect to the plaintiff. In accordance with his request he should have been given time to answer, which, gathering from the said verdict itself, did not happen, and the parties can [ now ] begin the case in question before the director general and councilors according to the tenor of law. Therefore, the plaintiff is ordered to have a copy of his claim handed to the defendant, in order to reply to it in writing by the next court day, and the defendant is condemned to pay the legal costs incurred to this end. Dated as above.
