Extract from the [ ] Magistrates over the [ ] Amstel.

Present:The DirectorPieter Pieters Harder [ Joh ]annes Hendricks

8 September 1661

Jean Paul Jaquett appeared before the meeting and requested that his account rendered 5 June 1661 be settled, because the movement of his cargoes from time to time depend on the arrival of the yachts from Manhattan. If this does not happen, then attempts are made to detain and take advantage of him. Therefore, he requests by petition that, according to the judgment issued before the council on 23 August, the sum be paid out with the condition that none of it be withheld. The council considered the petition similar to the exceptions and promises made to the guardians and curators of Elmerhuisen Kleyn's estate and agree to the submitted account, with the aforesaid condition.

Agrees with the original and in the absence of the secretary,

R. Ravens
