Translation

I promise and swear to be obedient and faithful to their High Mightinesses, the lords States-General of the United Netherlands as well as to our highest and sovereign authorities and to the directors of the Chartered West India Company; to make and preserve proper records of all goods, wares and merchandise which are brought into the City's colony for the account of the City of Amsterdam or private parties; to receive the duties and tolls due on such goods sent out from there, and on other things according to the manifests, without decrease or increase; to keep proper records of what is expended on public works by officials of the City's colony, and on other public matters; and furthermore, to conduct myself as any faithful and honest person should do in his service. So help me God Almighty.

Gerrit Kock took the above oath on 9 September 1663 in the presence of Messrs. Roeter Ernst and Johan van Hartoghvelt, schepens.
